Are Head Start, Little Giants Preschool, and Special Needs Preschool the same program?
No. They are three separate programs, with different criteria required for enrollment into each program.

What is Head Start?
Marion Community Schools Head Start is a federal program that promotes the school readiness of children ages 3 to 5 from low-income families by enhancing their cognitive, social, and emotional development. 

Is there a cost for Head Start?
No. Head Start is a federally funded three-hour preschool program and is therefore offered at no cost to families.

Does Head Start offer transportation?
No. Parents must provide their own transportation for Head Start.

What is Little Giants Preschool?
Little Giants Preschool opens in August 2014. It is a Title 1 funded preschool program, meaning it is open to students in academic need. Children are screened at time of application to determine eligibility. Click here for more information

What is Special Needs Preschool?
As part of the Grant County Special Education Cooperative, MCS is committed to ensuring that all students with disabilities are given the supports they need to obtain a free and appropriate education in the least restrictive environment. This includes Special Needs Preschool.

Does Special Needs Preschool offer transportation?
